...hopefully some useful VMware related stuff
Passed Exam VCP-510, VCP on vSphere 5
Today I passed exam VCP-510, and acheived the VMware Certified Professional (VCP) on vSphere 5.
The resources I used:
I read all of the Product Documentation from VMware https://www.vmware.com/support/pubs/vsphere-esxi-vcenter-server-pubs.html
(except the command line and scenarios - ran out of time)
The Whats New in vSphere 5 guide https://www.vmware.com/support/vsphere5/doc/vsphere-esx-vcenter-server-50-new-features.html
I learned the Configuration Maximums https://www.vmware.com/pdf/vsphere5/r50/vsphere-50-configuration-maximums.pdf
The VCP5 Mock Exam from VMware https://mylearn.vmware.com/mgrReg/plan.cfm?plan=12457&ui=www_cert
I built a vSphere 5 test lab on an old Dell Server, running ESXi 5 and the vSphere vCenter Appliance.
I tested myself using Simon Long's excellent VCP5 practice questions which are brilliant, especially for the Config Maximums. https://www.simonlong.co.uk/blog/vcp5-practice-exams/
I also have been using VMware for some time and have passed both the VCP3 and VCP4 in the past which definately helped.
Experience of vCenter, ESXi, vSA and the vCenter Appliance is a must.
Good luck to anyone taking this in the future!
